[list] cable vs. satellite TV

Anyone know from experience:

- if it is possible to have cable that is not digital - ie: very basic package? if so, what it is called, how much does it cost? which kids channels are on it?

- is HOT the only digital cable? what does it cost? what kids channels are on it?

- YES I know, b/c we have. 

Accuracy is impt b/c this is for an article.
