Frying Increases the Risk of Cancer

The Israel Cancer Association published recommendations to the public based on the relationship between frying and cancer. The ICA recommends that the public bake instead of fry, and if frying, to use medium temperature oil instead of high temperature oil.. Recommendations:• Avoid preparing donuts and pancakes by frying, and bake them instead at 170 degrees Celsius.• If you still decide to fry donuts and pancakes in oil, it is preferable to reduce their size in order to reduce the amount of oil in each donut, and make sure the oil temperature is medium rather than high. • Do not to brown the pancakes and donuts, because that creates a chemical called acrylamide, which is suspected to increase cancer risks.• Throughout the year, it is recommended to adopt a healthy lifestyle, including a balanced diet, exercise and no smoking.• Always choose light-colored fries over dark-colored ones.
