Description

Justice Minister, Ayelet Shaked has announced: - According to the law, anyone hurt by Airbnb's discriminatory action can sue for damages up to 50,000 NIS without proving damages. All someone needs to prove is that they were removed and someone else in Israel was not. They don't have to prove that someone canceled but if they can prove that they lost money (i.e. they wiped out a scheduled registration), they can sue for 50,000 NIS PLUS those damages. - The government can ALSO charge Airbnb for criminal actions which includes up to 200,000 NIS in fines and can ban ALL their activity in the country. According to the law, no one can legally discriminate between Yehuda and Shomron and the rest of Israel. A joint class action suit has already been filed , asking for 15,000 nis in damages from Airbnb. For those delisted by Airbnb - a new booking site Koshbnb.com -has been launched, for Jewish hosts to list their rental units.
