Measles Alert - Tel Aviv to Beit Shemesh Train

The Health Ministry has shared an important announcement that a person with Measles was on a train on Wednesday 17th January from Tel Aviv University Station to Savidor Central Station (train left at 12:20pm) and then on to Beit Shemesh (train left at 12:40pm).

Measles is a highly contagious viral disease manifested by fever, runny nose, cough and rash and can have serious and even life-threatening complications.

Passengers who were on these trains are asked to make sure that they are vaccinated in accordance with the recommendations of the Ministry of Health: Measles | Ministry of Health

The Health Ministry recommends that pregnant women who are not vaccinated with two doses and people who are vulnerable who were on one of these trains contact their family doctor or emergency medicine centers in order to receive a preventive vaccine. 

Unvaccinated people who are exposed to a person with measles have a 90% risk of catching measles!

If it is necessary to arrive at the clinic or emergency room, please call ahead before arriving at the clinic.

If symptoms appear and until a medical clarification is made, avoid public spaces such as shopping malls, public transportation, etc.

The Ministry emphasizes the importance of routine vaccinations against diseases such as measles, some of which can cause serious complications and death.
