Interior Minister Aryeh Deri's food security program is taking another hit and is being delayed, after two petitions were filed against the plan - the district court froze the tender for the food security program on Friday.

Following the hearing held Thursday in the Jerusalem District Court regarding the Ministry of the Interior's food voucher tender, which the Shufersal chain was chosen to lead, the court has issued a restraining order to continue the tender, given Shufersal's refusal to reach a joint outline with the Pitchon Lev organization.

Following an emergency hearing held for several hours, the court found flaws and deficiencies in the conduct of Shufersal and the state in the tender and asked the parties to reach a compromise. Following the lack of consent, the court issued a restraining order that would stop Shufersal from continuing its activities, until a ruling is received on the petition filed by the Pitchon Lev organization, through Adv. Yaniv Metlas.

MK Uriel Busso stated that: "Unlike the Coronavirus grants from the government that were also received by people who may not really need it that much, here Minister Deri made sure to give to people who really need it. People are counting on this program. I think this is a serious mistake and a real oppression for 150,000 families and more than 300,000 people who have to pay the price of this delay "
