Winter is Returning, Huge Storm Expected Thursday

The wintery weather is back, with rain and stormy weather forecasted for today and tomorrow and a huge storm expected this Thursday.

Starting with a significant drop in temperatures, intense winds and heavy rain tonight  it is expected to continue through the night and the following day. The rain will start in the north of the country and spread at night to the center.

Thursday is expected to be especially stormy, with heavy rain and strong winds starting at a speed of 50 kmph and may even reach up to 90 kmph.
The next day, on Friday, the storm will pass, the rains will lessen and cease during the day.

Trails Closed to Hikers
The Nature and Parks Authority announced that from tonight (Tuesday) until Friday, the trails in Nahal Darag, Nahal Og, Nahal Prat (except Ein Prat and Ein Mabua), the Qumran River and all of the rappelling cliffs in the Yehuda Desert will be closed to hikers due to the expected weather.
In addition, it is possible that other trails and sites will be closed, and it is recommended that you contact the ISRAC Information Center at * 3639 for more information.

South and North
In the south there is a high risk of flooding and sandstorms are expected.
In north snow is expected for the Hermon starting tonight, and it may snow in the northern Golan Heights as well. The waves in the Mediterranean are expected to be as high as three to six meters.
