One of my favorite movies is Field of Dreams with Kevin Costner and James Earl Jones. To me, it is a metaphor about living your dreams - and what better way to do that than with a happy marriage?

The realization of the dream in the movie is the cornfield which turns into a baseball field and brings people who want to connect with nostalgia and the beloved pastime of baseball. Kevin Costner debates whether to take a risk and make his dream a reality, and he is eventually convinced by James Earl Jones, who tells him, “If you build it, they will come".

Marriage is very much like that cornfield. Two people from different backgrounds and with very different personalities decide to build something together and they find reasons to make it work. They create a strong bond through positive communication and shared time and that empty field turns into a beautiful dream.

When I founded Together in Happiness, I also felt a little like Kevin Costner. Marriage education workshops are the field and my dream is to bring as many people as possible to watch the game - or rather, to learn the skills that will make marriage a dream come true.
