After meetings with the Ministry of Construction and Housing, the Mayor of Beit Shemesh has announced a building and housing plan that includes immediate actions and adjustment of the overall agreements signed previously. At the top of the list is dealing with the construction in the new neighborhoods and the negligence in the development of RBS Gimmel. In regards to completing the development of RBS Gimmel, Bloch has announced that "We will expedite the development work on the public buildings and infrastructure in RBS Gimmel. Weekly monitoring and follow up meetings are scheduled under the direction of the mayor and director of development and engineering at the Ministry of Housing."Regarding the building of housing in the new neighborhoods, Bloch says that "Marketing the apartments in RBS Daled and RBS Hey to the Charedi population will continue as planned, while the additional building doe to the Sheves-Kachlon Amendment doesn't proceed 20%. This is in order to improve the quality of life for the current residents and to prevent similar damages to what has been caused by the accelerated and unplanned construction in RBS G. In all the new neighborhoods planned, the construction of public buildings and public spaces will be built simultaneously with the construction of residential apartments so that the population of these apartments can be done properly and comfortably."It has also been announced: "The ministry's director promised that they would immediately market the available areas of industry and commerce." And that "In the next few weeks, the cornerstone of an urban pool in the Neve Shamir neighborhood will be placed with God's help."This announcement has concluded the uproar that was started a few weeks ago when, the city's legal advisor, Mr. Micky Gastwirth, announced in the name of the mayor that she is freezing the practically automatic approvals given to the Kablanim, due to the "Sheves-Kachlon Amendment" which allowed up to 30 percent more construction to their plots. Bloch froze the permits in order to examine the matter, since in her opinion these additions constitute a large part of the planning failure in the new neighborhoods that were built. Bloch has now announces that these additions will be approved for additional building for up to 20 percent of the property.
