Maanak Avoda - A Financial Gift from the Government

Maanak Avoda is basically a gift from the government depending on your age, income level, and marital status.

This year, the deadline to apply at the post office is November 30, 2020. If you have never applied before, you need to go to the Post Office with your teudat zehut (ID card) and an Israeli check. The clerk will fill out most of the form for you and ask you a few questions. You will sign the form and take home the top half. If you have previously applied in the past two years, you could either apply at the post office again or online. Online applications can be made until December 31st.

If Bituach Leumi has determined that you qualify, the money will be deposited directly until your bank account. Either way, you will receive a letter from them detailing to you if you qualified or not, the reason why, and how much and when you will receive the money. The online application can be filed up to two years from the end of the tax year for which it is filed. An online claim can be filed for the 2018 tax year and for the 2019 tax year until December 31st. you can find out the status of the application on the Tax Authority website

Special Changes to the 2019 Maanak because of the Corona Crisis

Because of the Corona crisis, those who applied before for their 2019 Maanak before  29.06.2020 and met the eligibility conditions received their grant in one installment  on 01.07.2020, instead of the usual four installments.  Now, when those eligible for the grant apply by Sunday, the grant amount will be transferred in one installment on the Wednesday of that week and will appear in the bank account the following Thursday.
