RECOMMENDED
Ahead of the opening of the Jerusalem Light Rail's L4 service line, connecting HaTurim and Gilo, the light rail will conduct test runs during both daytime and nighttime hours.
These test runs are part of the preparations for the line's launch. During this period, safety fences along the tracks will be removed. Residents, pedestrians and cyclists are therefore asked to be especially alert and follow all safety rules when near the tracks.
Never walk on the train tracks
Stay away from the tracks and use designated pedestrian paths and crossings.
Do not use your phone or wear headphones when crossing the tracks
Pay full attention to your surroundings when crossing and watch for approaching trains.
Do not ride bicycles in the track area
Cyclists must avoid riding along the tracks and use designated routes instead.
Stay away from the railway power poles
These poles are part of the light rail's electrical system. Keep a safe distance and do not approach them.
Even during test runs, trains moving along the tracks must be taken seriously. Everyone near the tracks must follow all safety instructions. The removal of safety fences makes it especially important to remain alert and exercise caution.
The public is asked to follow these rules to protect themselves and those around them.
Follow the safety rules. They save lives.
