Description

Bus Drivers have announced another strike - on Sunday morning 26th June 2022. During the peak travel time, when soldiers need to get to their bases and students to their studies, bus lines in Jerusalem, Beer Sheva, Netanya, Ashdod, Petach Tikva and more will be shut down.

The Association of Bus Drivers and the National Histadrut announced that on Sunday bus drivers will strike from the early morning hours until 9:00 AM. According to the organization, Transport Minister Merav Michaeli refuses to improve drivers' wages or meet with them, thus "endangering the lives of drivers and passengers”.

Please note that this strike includes both local and intercity bus routes.

The following is the list of routes that will be affected:

  • Beit Shemesh: All local buses and routes to and from Jerusalem.
  • Jerusalem to Beit Shemesh, Shafirim, Bnei Brak, Modi'in Illit and Neve Ilan.
  • Netanya: All local buses
  • Ashdod: All local and intercity routes in Ashdod and the moshavim and the surrounding area.
  • Petah Tikva: All local buses and some intercity routes.
  • Rosh HaAyin: All local buses and intercity routes.
  • Yavne: All local buses and intercity routes.
  • Bnei Brak: Bnei Brak-Jerusalem lines, Bnei Brak-Raanana lines.
  • Ben Gurion Airport-Jerusalem-Ben Gurion Airport.
  • Gan Yavne: All local buses and intercity routes.
  • Be'er Sheva: All local buses.
  • Ariel: All local buses and intercity routes.
  • Samaria Regional Council: All local buses and some intercity routes.

The bus drivers' association announced: We will continue to strike until the minister wakes up and takes care of the drivers who are on the road for 14 hours a day. "Every day we suffer and endanger ourselves and the traveling public – but the minister does not care. Bus drivers are being crushed under the wheels of the transport minister's bus. The struggle will escalate and this is only the beginning."
