Description

Last week, the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) released the Socio-Economic Index for different neighborhoods in Israel. The Bureau's data shows that the Kiryat Harama, Ramat Hatenaim neighborhood in RBS B ranks third of the five poorest areas to live in Israel.

At the top of the list is the Ramat Elchanan neighborhood in Bnei Brak, followed by an area between Yad Eliyahu and Kfar Shalem in Tel Aviv. The third place is Kiryat Harama, Ramat Hatenaim in RBS B. Mea Shearim occupies the fourth place on the list, and the 5th spot is held by the Kiryat Degel Hatorah in Modiin Ilit.

Conversely, here are the top 5 richest neighborhoods in Israel, listed in descending order: the Tzameret Park Towers in Tel Aviv; the Tzahala neighborhood in Tel Aviv; the Dania neighborhood in Haifa; Kochav Hatzafon in Tel Aviv; and Neve Rom in Ramat Hasharon.

The index is based on data collected from the 2015 census, with the previous index based on data from the 2008 census. Due to problems with addresses, dozens of Arab communities were excluded from the index, which would probably affect the list of poorest neighborhoods. Also, small towns such as Kfar Shmaryahu, Savyon and Arsuf were not included in the index, which would affect the list of richest neighborhoods as well.
