Senior Citizens and Yehuda & Shomron Residents to Resume Paying ...

Transportation Minister Miri Regev has instructed the Public Transportation Authority to return to accepting cash payments from senior citizens and residents of Yehuda and Shomron as of July 12. 

Since mid-March, when the coronavirus caused new public transportation regulations, payment for bus rides has only been possible through Rav Kavs in order to reduce the contact between passengers and bus drivers. The new arrangement has been difficult for senior citizens and has prevented Yehuda and Shomron residents from benefiting from their travel discount. 

Despite the transition at the end of 2018 to pay only by Rav Kav, Yehuda and Shomron residents were allowed to continue to pay with cash in order to benefit from their discount.  Since they were not allowed to pay with cash because of the  new coronavirus regulations, they were unable to use their discount.  

Following the request by Yossi Dagan, the head of the Shomron Regional Council to the Transportation minister, Miri Regev decided to permit senior citizens, and Yehuda and Shomron residents to resume paying in cash, as of July 12.
