📣 Update on the Chalat payments from Bituach Leumi
The scheme has been agreed upon and will be voted on in the Knesset this week (29th - 31st March 2026).
You can already start submitting applications for unemployment benefits to Bituach Leumi.
The plan is that payments are scheduled to be paid into bank accounts in May, though some eligible residents may see funds as early as April.
In the meantime, what is important to do on your part?
1. Submit an application for unemployment benefits during the unemployment benefits (required only from those who are unemployed or have been on unemployment benefits for the first time in the past year)
2. Request Form 100 from your employer. This is the official document that confirms your work was stopped and states the specific reason for the leave. Make sure it states the date that you stopped work.
3. Register with the Employment Service (Sherut HaTa’asuka) online: https://www.taasuka.gov.il/
.
👈 If you submit the application with these details by 9th April 2026 you will probably receive the payments in April.
👈🏻 The benefits will be transferred no later than May.
