Beit Shemesh Unveils ₪200 Million Development Plan
Beit Shemesh Mayor Shmuel Greenberg presented a ₪200+ million development plan to the chairman of Mifal HaPais - the National Lottery, aimed at supporting the city's rapid growth as it approaches 200,000 residents and heads toward an expected population of 350,000 by 2030.
The plan includes a new sports and cultural complex in RBS Aleph featuring an indoor pool, a 1,500-seat sports arena, a community center, and a public library.
Additional projects include tennis and soccer facilities, a baseball field, a new extreme sports park, upgrades to the city amphitheater, a road safety center, a youth club, and expansion of the city's memorial site.
The municipality also presented plans to increase funding for cultural programs and student scholarships. Mifal HaPais officials praised the scope of the projects and the city's long-term vision for improving quality of life and supporting Beit Shemesh's continued growth.
