Security in Beit Shemesh is being improved, with 300 cameras being installed in Yarmout Park and key areas around the city.

In Yarmout Park, work began this week to install cameras aimed at enhancing security and combating vandalism. Mayor Greenberg updated that within two weeks, the installation of 90 cameras along the entire park will be completed.

Council Member Yona Kaufman added that the cameras covering the entire park area will provide real-time monitoring. A system will immediately alert staff on screens monitored 24 hours a day.

Cameras will also be installed at the city entrances and in other parks throughout the city. In addition, the security cameras at the Water Tower Park have been upgraded, including the addition of public address systems.

The installation of cameras in the Brosh Industrial Zone, which aims to address the issue of abandoned vehicles, and creating a safer environment for workers, has been successfully completed.

In addition to the cameras in Yarmout Park and the industrial zone, 50 cameras have been installed at various locations throughout the city over the past six months, as part of the ongoing effort to upgrade the city's security system. Other locations where cameras have been installed include the Eliyahu HaNavi bridge at the corner of Aharonson, the Yeshayahu HaNavi Bridge, Kidron, Dolev, and additional sites across Beit Shemesh. By the end of the project, Beit Shemesh is expected to have around 300 cameras, forming a broad safety network, with plans to continue expanding the covered areas.

Mayor Shmuel Greenberg said "The security of the city's residents is our top priority. The investment in cameras and other upgrades allows us to continue moving the city forward."

Council Member Yona Kaufman, responsible for the Municipal Call Center 106 said "The Municipal Call Center, staffed 24 hours a day, will continue to manage the information received from the cameras and respond quickly to any unexpected events. The addition of cameras strengthens the sense of security for all residents."
