Description

The Ministry of Education announced yesterday the winners of the Israel High School Excellence Awards of 2019.


Four Beit Shemesh high schools, Branco Weiss Beit Shemesh, Branco Weiss Etgari, Ulpanat Ahavat Yisrael and Penini Chen, along with 284 others, were chosen for their excellence in values, extracurricular programs, and academic achievement. These schools were selected from 721 high schools that met the required criteria.


Among the indices ranked were dropout prevention, special education mainstreaming, IDF enlistment, Sherut Leumi, the percentage of Bagrut eligibility, the percentage of excellence in Bagrut exams and the degree of overall improvement. The teachers in these schools noted for excellence are awarded with a prize of up to 8451 nis.


Mayor Dr. Aliza Bloch said: "I congratulate my teachers and students for leading change, promoting community engagement, teaching values, social and educational excellence and above all, persistence to lead in excellence each year. I'm proud of you and your achievements.”
