Ahead of the upcoming 26th Knesset election, the Population and Immigration Authority and the Central Elections Committee are working together to help eligible voters who do not have a valid identification document.

Starting today, anyone who needs to issue a new Israeli ID card can visit any Population and Immigration Authority office across Israel without making an appointment in advance.

Visitors can come during the office’s regular published hours.

Why is this important?

A valid identification document is required in order to vote. The new arrangement is intended to help people who do not currently have a valid identification document arrange a new ID card before Election Day.

This will allow eligible voters to arrive on Election Day prepared to exercise their right to vote.

Where can you renew your ID?

The service is available at all Population and Immigration Authority offices across Israel, without an appointment, during their regular published hours.

It is recommended to check the office hours and the latest instructions on the official Population and Immigration Authority website before going.

Election information - use official sources

The Central Elections Committee reminds the public to rely only on its official channels for accurate and up-to-date information about the election.

The arrangement was agreed upon by Population and Immigration Authority Director General Boaz Yosef and Acting Director General of the Central Elections Committee Adv. Din Livneh. The goal is to make sure that eligible voters who do not have a valid identification document have the opportunity to arrange a new ID and exercise their right to vote.
