Beit Shemesh is getting ready for Rosh Hashanah with a major planting project across the city. Around 150,000 new plants and flowers will be planted in neighborhoods, public squares and along major roads, helping refresh and improve the city’s appearance ahead of the holidays.

Alongside the planting, city crews are continuing cleaning, gardening and landscaping work throughout Beit Shemesh as part of the city’s preparations for Rosh Hashanah and the Tishrei holidays.

Mayor Shmuel Greenberg said: “Beit Shemesh is getting a fresh look for the New Year. The 150,000 new plants being planted across the city are part of our efforts to improve the appearance and public spaces in every neighborhood. We will continue investing to make the city cleaner, greener and more beautiful.”

Deputy Mayor and Head of the City’s Sanitation and Public Works Department, Chanoch Drenger, said: “Ahead of Rosh Hashanah, we are planting around 150,000 new plants throughout the city. This is a large-scale project taking place in neighborhoods, public squares and along major roads, so that Beit Shemesh can welcome the New Year looking beautiful and well cared for. We will continue working to improve the public spaces for residents.”
