After a period of suspension of operations during the war, Amazon has resumed direct deliveries to Israel and restored the option of FREE shipping on orders over $49 on a wide range of products.
The suspension was due to a sharp decline in flights to Israel during the war, but now, with air activity gradually returning to normal, additional international companies are also returning to shipping to Israel.
However, Amazon emphasizes that not all products are included in the free shipping campaign - a situation that existed even before the war. In addition, delivery times are longer than usual, currently standing at about a month instead of about two weeks.
Most other international retailers continued shipping to Israel throughout the war. iHerb maintained deliveries through a DHL initiative that routed shipments via Cyprus. Next continued shipping with delays, as did other British retailers including ASOS and Cult Beauty.
A bottleneck has formed at Israel’s entry points in recent days. As flight volumes rose, hundreds of thousands of previously ordered packages arrived over the past week. Following the ceasefire, Israelis resumed ordering at a higher pace, adding to the parcels piling up in warehouses and straining delivery systems.
Despite the challenges, this is significant consumer news that marks a gradual return to normal in the international shopping market in Israel.
