Ahead of the city’s October 7 memorial ceremony, held yesterday Monday evening at the Beit Shemesh Cultural Center, artist Dina Ackerman created a moving tribute to those who were killed and fallen since October 7.
In a short period of time and entirely as a volunteer, Dina painted portraits of the victims and fallen soldiers, creating a personal way to remember each person and keep their memory alive.
The portraits were displayed at the entrance to the ceremony, where attendees could stop, look at the artwork, and remember the people behind the names.
At the end of the ceremony, the portraits were presented to the families as a personal and meaningful keepsake.
The moving tribute added a personal touch to the ceremony and served as a reminder that behind every name and portrait is a person, a family, and a life that will never be forgotten.
