As the 2026 school year comes to an end, Beit Shemesh’s education system is celebrating an outstanding year of achievement. Students, teachers and school leaders from across the city earned recognition at the regional, national and international competitions, bringing pride to their schools and to the wider Beit Shemesh community.
Among this year’s notable achievements, Noa Gross of Ulpanat Ahavat Yisrael was named an outstanding youth leader, while Rafael Gamzu of Yeshivat Ahavat Yisrael received the same distinction. The Branco Weiss robotics team advanced to the national finals, and students from Atid Dvir won first place in Israel in a 3D printing competition, as well as second place in the Jerusalem District in a geometry and artificial intelligence competition.
Elementary schools in the city also recorded impressive accomplishments. Jabotinsky School won second place in Israel in the Matarim Israel Knowledge Quiz and first place in the Jerusalem District in the “Path of Light” competition. Begin Hamar School earned first place in the Jerusalem District for its science and technology emblem design.
The city’s educational staff also received important recognition this year. Naomi Mualem, Keren Sanans and Dafna Biton of Begin Hamar School won a national first prize for creating an innovative learning space. Tzuri Azran, principal of Nitzanei Oz School, was named a groundbreaking district principal and advanced to the national stage. Dina Kedar, a mathematics teacher at Levi Eshkol School, received the district education award.
Beit Shemesh Municipality noted that these achievements reflect the hard work and dedication of students, educators, school leaders and parents who continue to support learning, growth and excellence throughout the year.
Mayor Shmuel Greenberg said: “The achievements of Beit Shemesh students show that our city’s education system is moving forward with excellence, innovation and values. I congratulate the students, principals, teachers and parents on a year of hard work, perseverance and impressive success. We will continue investing in education, because that is where the future of Beit Shemesh lies.”
Deputy Mayor and Education Portfolio Holder, Itzik Elmaliach said: “The impressive achievements of Beit Shemesh students are the result of a high-quality, diverse and committed education system, as well as close cooperation with school principals, teaching staff and parents. Time and again, Beit Shemesh proves that it is home to outstanding students, exceptional teachers and leaders who move education forward.”
Head of the Education Administration, Yosef Goldring, added: “The 5786 school year concludes with exceptional achievements that reflect depth, creativity and excellence throughout the city’s education system. We are proud of every student and every member of our educational staff, who prove each day that belief, investment and professionalism lead to meaningful results.”
