Beit Shemesh Presents: A Significant Leap in Quality of Life!
The annual Quality of Life Index released today by the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) shows a significant improvement for Beit Shemesh. The data shows that Beit Shemesh leads in self-assessment of health, satisfaction with housing, along with positive economic data and other indicators that reflect an improvement in the quality of life of its residents.

The report also noted that Beit Shemesh has the lowest percentage of residents reporting disruptive noise outside their homes, with only 26.4%, compared to 30.5% nationally. This reflects the improvement in the living environment and quality of life in the city, alongside a strengthened sense of personal security.
Mayor Shmuel Greenberg said "Beit Shemesh continues to move forward and improve the lives of its residents in every area. We are proud to be part of the group of cities leading in quality of life in the country, and we promise to continue working to further improve the quality of life for the city's residents."
Herzliya came in first place on the list of cities with the highest score in the quality of life index for 2023, Kfar Saba came in second place, Beit Shemesh is in sixth place, and at the bottom of the list are Jerusalem and Bat Yam. 90 quality of life indicators were developed for 2023, and residents of the 18 largest cities (with more than 100,000 residents) assessed their satisfaction with these aspects of their lives.
Herzliya leads in most quality of life indicators such as median household income from work, lowest housing density, percentage of employed people satisfied with their income, life satisfaction, sense of ability to deal with problems, general trust in others, and satisfaction with the economic situation.
Kfar Saba leads in satisfaction with the residential area, in the percentage of eligibility for matriculation, in post-secondary and higher education, in life expectancy, in satisfaction with parks and green spaces in the residential area, in satisfaction with the cleanliness of the residential area, and in a sense of appreciation from family members.
In 2023, Beit Shemesh went up to be included in the group of cities with a high overall score in quality of life indicators, and it leads in self-assessment of health, satisfaction with housing, and the lowest percentage of those reporting disturbing noise outside their homes.
Bnei Brak had the highest voting rate in the elections for the 25th Knesset, the residents have high expectations for the future, and a high percentage of residents involved in volunteer activities.
Tel Aviv-Yafo leads in the employment rate, Beer Sheva leads in the highest percentage of affordable housing.
Jerusalem leads in the lowest number of new cases of malignant tumors (cancer) among men and women, in the lowest percentages of feeling depressed, and in satisfaction with life/work balance.
