Good news: Ben Gurion Airport returns to full operation.
Following the ceasefire and the Minister of Transport's announcement, the Airports Authority confirms that starting tonight at midnight, Ben Gurion Airport will return to full routine operation. Duty-Free shops and all terminal services will also reopen.
Regarding other airports: Herzliya Airport will open tomorrow morning, Ramon Airport on Sunday, and the return of flights from Haifa will be evaluated closer to the weekend.
An official notice regarding the return to normal operations has also been sent to foreign airlines. However, their return to Israel will be gradual, as it depends on approvals from authorities in their own countries.
As always, it is important to note that the return to full operation is subject to the security situation and may change based on guidelines from security officials.
El Al Flights
After a period of reduced operations, last night El Al announced its return to broad and significant activity. Starting next week (April 12-18), the airline will operate full-capacity flights to about 30 different destinations.
Here are the destinations El Al will fly to next week:
Europe: Athens, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Paris, Berlin, Budapest, Batumi, Tbilisi, Rome, Frankfurt, Munich, Larnaca, Lisbon, Madrid, Moscow, Milan, Bucharest, Prague, Vienna, Warsaw, Zurich, and London.
Far East: Bangkok, Phuket, and Tokyo.
North America: New York, Los Angeles, and Miami.
Important note: Passengers who were already booked will be automatically assigned to these flights (details are available on the El Al website). Once the assignment process is complete, the remaining available seats on these flights will open for public sale.
Throughout the month, El Al is expected to gradually expand its operations until it reaches a full flight schedule. However, as always, it is important to remember that changes and adjustments to the flight schedule may still occur depending on the security situation.
Update from Arkia
Following the ceasefire, Arkia is preparing to gradually increase the number of flights and passengers departing from Ben Gurion Airport.
Until May 2 (during the month of April), Arkia will operate flights to the following destinations only:
• Athens, Larnaca, Rome, Vienna, London, Amsterdam, Paris, Budapest, Bangkok, and New York.
Starting May 3, the airline plans to return to a full flight schedule to all destinations.
Important to note: Passengers who already held flight tickets will receive priority for rescheduling. Additionally, flights will open for public sale in the coming hours.
