Osem Nestle informed retailers last week that "Following very significant cumulative price increases, we are forced to update the price list for some of the company's products: Sabra salads, Tivall frozen items, Bonjour frozen products, Ketchup and sauces, cookies and chocolate-based products."
The prices for these items will be increased by about 4-9% in the near future.
According to the company's announcement, these products constitute only about 14% of the company's range, most of which are manufactured in industrial plants in the south of Israel, and the price increases are due to the war.
It should be noted that the Osem company raised their prices twice in 2023.
Osem's price increase joins a series of companies that have raised prices at the start of this month:
Shastowitz (importer) - 25%,
Strauss - 25%
Sugat - 20%
Sids (importer) - 16%
Beit Hashita - 15%
Willifood - 15%
Wissotzky -10%
Dr. Fisher - 10%
Shamir Salads - 10%
Tahina Baraka - 9%
Achva - 8%
Yachin - 6%
Unilever also announced that they would raise the prices of chocolate products, such as Click and Strauss ice cream, (including Cremissimo), by an average of 9.7%.
Products across the supermarket will be noticeably more expensive for consumers: Sugar, flour, rice, tahini, tea, pasta, tuna, toothpaste, canned corn, tomato paste, olives, pickles and more.
As well as the higher costs due to the war, there are also increased costs of shipping raw materials and finished goods to Israel at this time.
