Do you have supplementary health insurance?
What if your child needed a complicated eye operation best done in the US? Or if someone in your family needs rare, expensive medicines not included in the health basket?
A private supplementary health policy could make all the difference. It’s relatively inexpensive, and the basic policy covers transplants, overseas operations, and medicines not covered by the health funds.

Sample monthly premiums (quoted in NIS):

• Family: Parents ages 35 & 36 + 2 kids = 153
• Family: Parents ages 40 & 43 + 5 kids = 254
• Family: Parents ages 50 & 56 + 5 kids = 300

Have you reviewed your home insurance?
Do you have an assessor’s report for your contents? If you live in an apartment, have you looked into buying Erech Karka - the value of the land?
Why is this important? Most mortgage banks only require you to insure for the “rebuilding value”of your apartment, which is much lower than the true value. In an extreme case, if the whole building is damaged, you may not be able to rebuild unless you’ve secured Erech Karka coverage.

Do you travel with proper insurance? Don’t ever travel without it!
