According to Central Bureau of Statistics estimates:
On 31 December, 2023, Israel's population is estimated at 9.842 million residents.
~ 7,208,000 are Jews (73.2% of the total population)
~ 2,080,000 are Arabs (21.1%)
~ 554,000 are other religions (5.7%).
During 2023, Israel's population increased by 1.9%, which is lower than the 2.2% growth in 2022. About 72% of the increase was due to natural growth and 28% was due to net immigration.
During the year, approximately 179,000 babies were born (73.3% born to Jewish mothers, 24.1% to Arab mothers and 2.6% to other mothers).
Approximately 49,500 people died this year, and just over 2,500 Israelis moved abroad for more than a year.
Approximately 45,000 new immigrants arrived in Israel during 2023, about 75% came from Russia and Ukraine.
