Claims of the month

1. A group of young tourists that we insure with medical insurance in Israel, were involved in a serious jeep accident. 10 girls were evacuated to hospitals with 3 in a serious condition.

This is where the Bituach Chova (the compulsory motor insurance) kicks in. All medical bills and further expenses and disability are covered under the policy of the jeep. (We always recommend taking a lawyer who specializes in such claims).

Refuah Shlemah!

1. Our client owns an apartment in downtown Jerusalem. Suddenly, the mirpesset (balcony) collapsed onto the shop below causing extensive damage. Obviously, we immediately checked their policy. Two points emerged:

1. Third Party liability would go towards paying the physical damage.

2. The actual cost of clearing the balcony + replacing it, is not one of the risks covered by the policy. This is similar to wear-and-tear and is excluded from coverage.

At the same time, the insurance company appointed an assessor + an investigator to carefully assess what happened. Iriyat Yerushalayim (Jerusalem Municipality) closed off the area and requested that all the balconies in the building be tested.

Policies of the month

1. A large news corporation approached us with an unusual request: Coverage for an armored car. This vehicle will be used in Yehuda V’Shomron and is in the process of being shipped to Israel.

The insurance won’t be cheap but it’s doable!

1. We issued a record number of Travel policies as the skies opened again. A few highlights of the policy:

• Medical coverage up to $5,000,000.
  *Up to age 50: 365 days maximum, 51-60 -180 days, 81-95 - 30 days maximum.
  *Option to cover pre-existing conditions (up to $350,000).
  *Cancellation + shortening of trip - $5,000 + $7,000.
  *Direct settlement of claims through LAYA digital payments wallet.
