The Ministry of Immigration and Absorption working in conjunction with the Eran Association have opened a mental health hotline to provide therapeutic help to immigrants - new and old.
The line is operated by qualified emotional therapists with a master's degree in therapy. Help is available in the following languages: Amharic, Russian, French, Spanish, and English.
The phone number is *3201. Ext 1 for English. Open 12pm - 9pm
Goals of the help center:
- Culturally and linguistically adapted emotional support for immigrants experiencing distress due to the absorption processes
- Alleviation of loneliness
- Supporting and strengthening personal and family relationships
- Assistance in the parent-child relationship
- Mental health support is provided to immigrants who take care of invalid parents
- Acquiring tools to deal with stressful situations at the family level and improving the ability to cope
- Mental support in stressful situations against the background of living in the shadow of the Corona virus
- Initial assistance to immigrants who find themselves in situations of stress and crisis, encouragement to apply for continued professional help
- If necessary - referral to professional care and support.
Who is eligible? Any immigrant of age (18+) is eligible to use the service - there is no limit on how many years they have lived here.
Important details:
Immigrants may receive up to 5 therapy sessions (in coordination with the therapist).
All referrals to the line are considered a 'telephone service' and subject to full treatment confidentiality - referrals will be recorded in a treatment documentation system that complies with all the required confidentiality tools.
The therapeutic response is given by mental health professionals with a master's degree in therapy.
This phoneline is not intended for helping with Aliyah rights, etc. For this purpose, you can contact the Ministry of Absorption and Immigration
