Starting on Thursday 1st August 2024, parking rates in Jerusalem will be updated as follows:
- Non-residents (those whose address is not registered in Jerusalem) will pay ₪12.40 per hour for parking.
- City residents who have not registered their vehicle with the municipality will pay the same higher rate. (A registration form is attached.)
- City residents whose address is listed in the population registry as Jerusalem and who have updated their vehicle details with the municipality, will continue to pay the existing rate of ₪6.90 per hour. They will also be entitled to one hour of free parking per day (cumulative).
- City residents whose vehicle is registered with the municipality and who are also members of the 'Jerusalem Club' will be entitled to one hour of free parking per day (cumulative). For the second hour of parking and beyond, they will receive a 20% discount on the Jerusalem resident rate of ₪6.90 per hour.

Those who live outside Jerusalem should be aware of these new high parking rates, and find alternatives to driving into the city!
The move is intended to give preference to the residents of the city in parking throughout the city, and to encourage visitors to Jerusalem to use public transport. In recent years, the city's public transportation system has been developed, with the light rail system and giving preference to buses with bus lanes, as well as a fast and convenient train line from Jerusalem to Herzliya, through Tel Aviv. The city operates "Park and Ride" parking lots around the light rail routes, such as Mount Herzl and Nachal Tzofim, which offer free parking to users of buses and the light rail.
