Before you fly abroad this summer, it is important to know that your consumer rights are protected by the Aviation Services Law.
The Aviation Services Law regulates the cases in which a passenger is entitled to compensation and assistance due to changes in flight times and cancellations. The law applies to:
- Flights from Israel to abroad
- Flights from abroad to Israel, even if they include a stopover
- Domestic flights.
Delayed flights:
A flight that departed late is a flight that departed at least two hours later than the time specified on the ticket.
A passenger who was offered an alternative flight on the day following the original flight is also entitled to accommodation and transportation services to the hotel.
Cancelled flights:
A cancelled flight is a flight that did not take place or departed at least 8 hours later than the time stated on the ticket.
A passenger whose flight is cancelled is entitled to receive:
Please note: Passengers who are transferred to another flight that arrives at the same final destination at the time specified on the original flight ticket will not receive compensation.

Important Note: A claim for benefits under the aforementioned law may be filed within 4 years from the date of occurrence of the cause of action.
