The Ministry of Transport is organizing hundreds of buses from all over the country, and trains that will operate throughout the night, to transport tens of thousands of worshippers to Har Meron.
The public transport system is preparing for the Lag B'Omer celebration at Meron at the kever of the Baal Tov, which will take place next Thursday night to Friday, 15-16th May - י"ז–י"ח באייר תשפ"ה
For many months, the Ministry of Transport and the National Public Transport Authority have been preparing for 'Operation Meron' to enable the safe and orderly transport of thousands of people to and from Har Meron.
As in previous years, entry to Meron is only possible with a ticket - purchased in advance.
The ticket permits entry to the Meron complex for up to 5 hours only, depending on the time indicated on it.
Ticket sales start today, Monday, May 5th this afternoon, until next Monday, May 12th, 2025.
Tickets can be purchased on the website: https://meron.glatticket.co.il
and by calling the call center at *2111.
The National Public Transportation Authority notes that in order to prevent Chillul Shabbat this year, buses leaving Meron to all parts of the country - except for the northern region - will only depart until 1pm.
There are three ways to get to Meron:
~ Public transport: Travel by bus or train from across the country directly to Meron, choosing an exact departure location and boarding time.
~ Private buses: Groups, institutions and communities will arrive at the Kahal parking lot, and from there they will continue on shuttles by reservation in advance.
~ Private vehicle: Parking in the Elifelet parking lot only, with round-trip shuttles by reservation in advance, with tickets required for each passenger in the vehicle at the entrance to the parking lot.
Return from Meron is via shuttles to parking lots: Each passenger will be returned in the same manner and on the same line according to the route they arrived on.
~ Train: New this year: Arrival from a variety of destinations on designated trains. Passengers who arrived by public bus will also be able to return via the Karmiel train, without the need for prior arrangement, but upon presentation of the return ticket. Special trains will operate throughout the night - to destinations in the south of the country and Beit Shemesh, with a stop in Savidor, from where passengers will be transferred by special shuttles to Bnei Brak, to the neighborhoods of Beit Shemesh and Beitar Illit.
Please note: On Friday, 16th May the last trip will depart at 1pm. to destinations throughout the country except for the northern destinations (Safed and Kahal and Elifelet parking lots until 3:30pm).
The Ministry of Transport stresses that entry to Meron will only be permitted via an authorized shuttle with a valid ticket. Any travel arrangement that is not coordinated and approved will not be recognized and will not be permitted.
