Take a walk in nature - it's free!

The Israel Land Authority invites you to take a stroll in spectacular natural sites throughout the country that have undergone ecological and environmental development and restoration by the Authority through the Fund for the Preservation of Open Areas. The sites offer plenty of attractions for all ages: birdhouses, winter pools, accessible walking and bike paths, rock formations, bridges, shaded picnic areas, and more.

All of these were cultivated and made available through the Israel Lands Authority for the benefit of the public.

North

The Airplane Park - Kiryat Shmona
A magical nature site, located near the northern border of Israel in Kiryat Shmona. Accessible walking and bicycle paths on the water's edge, bird and waterfowl observation areas as well as shaded corners for rest and picnics were placed on the site for the benefit of visitors as part of an upgrade and accessibility project by the Israel Lands Authority.

The Salt Carrier Canal in the Jordan Valley (Rob Roy parking lot)
The canal was built in the 1960s by the Mekorot company to divert the salty springs from the Sea of Galilee towards the southern Jordan and thus reduce the salinity of the water in the lake. However, over time the canal dried up and as part of a project for the restoration and cultivation of the site by the Israel Lands Authority, the salt carrier canal was restored and water was re-directed into it, after the canal had been cleaned. The magical corner of Hamad, located at the entrance to Kibbutz Kinneret, offers visitors a wide and winding river 1.2 km long and about 100 m wide, into which the Kinneret water flows, a boardwalk, parking lot and seating areas by the water's edge. The restored site now integrates both scenic and ecological area, and is a pleasant corner for family trips, vacations and picnics.

As part of an environmental and ecological conservation and restoration project of the Israel Land Authority, visitors will be able to enjoy an abundance of rare animals and plants, a floating walkway to make the pool accessible to the general public, birdhouses on the sides of the path, natural stone seating areas for a family picnic in the great outdoors, and directional signs.  https://youtu.be/MwzvitYEghI In Waze: Rehaniya .
