Many working individuals and families in Israel are eligible for an annual financial benefit from the government, yet many within the English-speaking community remain unaware that it applies to them.
Known as the Work Grant (מענק עבודה) or "Negative Income Tax" (Mas Hachnasa Shlili), this program functions as a direct income supplement paid straight into your bank account. The average benefit stands at approximately ₪4,000 per year, and can reach over ₪10,000 for single parents.
There is no immediate deadline or pressure to apply; applications for the tax year can be submitted online until December 2027.
Who Qualifies for the Grant?
The program is relevant to both salaried employees and self-employed individuals who meet one of the following criteria:
Working Parents: Aged 21 or older, with at least one child under the age of 19 living at home.
Older Adults: Aged 55 or older, even without children.
Income Guidelines:
Please note: If you or your spouse own more than 50% of a second real estate property (in Israel or abroad), you are not eligible.
