Summer is here, and the jellyfish have once again chosen the beaches of israel for a vacation!

🪼 So what do you do if you get stung by a jellyfish?

• Remove all jellyfish remnants from the skin using a stick or piece of plastic. It is important to avoid rubbing the area so as not to worsen the penetration of the venom into the skin.
• Rinsing: You can perform an initial rinse with seawater and immediately afterwards it is important to rinse with a direct stream of tap water for several minutes without rubbing the area.
• Physical reactions that require immediate treatment:  If, in addition to local redness or burning, one or more of the symptoms listed below appear, you should go to the nearest hospital or medical center as soon as possible for immediate treatment or call an ambulance.
  These include symptoms such as: narrowing of the airways, difficulty breathing, weakness, swelling of the throat, bluish discoloration of the affected area, abnormal swelling - edema, severe allergic reaction.
  This is especially true for young children, but it is true for everyone if these signs appear.
  

Skin irritation can occur in water even without direct contact with the jellyfish's body, and also through contact with a jellyfish that has washed ashore and is not in the water.
