At a meeting in the Mayor's office, all parties welcomed the launch of Wolt operations in Beit Shemesh. Wolt Israel CEO Tomer Cohen stated: "Beit Shemesh, a growing city with a diverse community and strong local businesses, deserves the most advanced service. We are excited to adapt our service to the city's residents." Mayor Greenberg added: "Any initiative that creates additional economic movement in the city is a blessing."
A New Era of Consumerism and Business Growth Mayor Shmuel Greenberg hosted senior management from the delivery platform Wolt today to mark the company's official launch in the city. The move is expected to serve as a significant growth engine for local businesses and expand consumer options for residents.
The meeting was attended by Mayor Shmuel Greenberg, City CEO Eliad Abramchik, and City Council Member Rabbi Yeshayahu Weisman, alongside Tomer Cohen (CEO of Wolt Israel) and Omri Sheinfeld (Deputy CEO of Wolt Israel). The parties discussed the economic implications of the platform's entry and the benefits it brings to local business owners and residents.
"We are happy to finally launch in Beit Shemesh, one of the fastest-growing and most significant cities in Israel," said Tomer Cohen. "Expanding to Beit Shemesh is part of our broader move to make Wolt's service accessible to more populations and regions across the country. We believe that the ability to adapt to different audiences is the key to real, long-term growth. I thank the Mayor for his blessing and cooperation. As in every city we enter, we bring Wolt's international service standard, tailored to the specific needs of Beit Shemesh residents."
Local Impact by the Numbers Wolt is launching in Beit Shemesh with approximately 70 businesses, including 40 restaurants and 30 retail businesses. Leading local restaurants available on the app include Motti's, 110 Burger, and Hello Teiman. Retail options include major supermarket chains such as Carrefour, Victory, and Yellow, alongside pharmacies, flower shops, butcheries, bakeries, and more.
Mayor Greenberg emphasized the economic importance: "The entry of a company of this magnitude is an expression of confidence in the city's resilience and economic potential. It is a significant tool for small businesses, allowing them to expand their customer base and increase their livelihood, while also providing employment opportunities for local couriers and improving service for residents."
City CEO Eliad Abramchik and Council Member Rabbi Yeshayahu Weisman also praised the cooperation and the platform's adaptation to the city's needs, including the availability of approximately 12 different types of kashrut certifications.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties agreed to continue a fruitful dialogue for the benefit of businesses and residents. Blue couriers can already be seen throughout the city, marking the latest step in the city's recent momentum of development and service.
