In the latest figures released today, in honor of International Child's Day it was revealed that Beit Shemesh is the city with the highest percentage of children under the age of 17. In this city, currently 50.7% of the residents are children!
Bnei Brak and Jerusalem come next in the ranking.
Beit Shemesh has the highest average number of children per mother in the country: 5.74. The national average is 2.85! In Tel Aviv the average is 1.93.
Beit Shemesh has the second highest average number of children under 17 per household - with 3.39, following closely behind Bnei Brak, which has an average of 3.59 children per household.
National Satistics:
At the end of September 2024, the population of Israel aged 0-17 was estimated at approximately 3.123 million children, which is 31.9% of the total population.
In an interesting statistic, most children in Israel live with both parents - about 91% of the children.
In 2023, there were 178,724 babies were born in Israel.
