The most popular names for boys were:

Yosef - 1,324
The most popular names by city:
Sarah was the most common girls' name in Beitar Illit, Modi'in Illit, Beit Shemesh, Bnei Brak, Jerusalem and Ashdod.
Among Jewish boys, the name David was the most commonly chosen in Beit Shemesh, Netivot and Jerusalem. The highest number of children given by this name was in Jerusalem (306).

The most popular names were: Amichai, Oz, Or, Yahav, Barurch, Maor and Oriya.
The CBS commented that the the name Be'eri was not given as much as usual, after October 7th.
At a national level, the most common names for all babies in 2023 were Muhammad and Yosef, then David and Ariel (which is used for boys and girls). In fifth place was the name Ori (which is used for 1,227 boys and 518 girls).
