According to Yeshiva World News, Mir Yeshiva is planning an expansion in Neve Shamir!
In a landmark move for the city of Beit Shemesh, a sprawling five-dunam plot has been officially designated for a new branch of the world-renowned Mir Yeshiva in the Ramat Beit Shemesh Hey (Neve Shamir) neighborhood.
This significant project marks a historic chapter in the expansion of the Mir, led by the Rosh HaYeshiva HaGaon HaRav Eliezer Yehuda Finkel. The Mir began in Yerushalayim’s Beis Yisroel neighborhood, and later expanded to major branches including Mir Brachfeld in Modi’in Illit and the Mir yeshiva ketanah in Ramat Shlomo. As the largest yeshiva in the world, the Mir's arrival is set to transform the spiritual landscape of the area.
Key Highlights of the Development:
Strategic Growth: The allocation follows an extensive approval process, reportedly championed by Mayor Shmuel Greenberg as part of his commitment to strengthening local Torah institutions.
A Growing Torah Hub: The move signals Neve Shamir's emergence as a premier center for Torah life, welcoming hundreds of bnei Torah to the neighborhood.
Future Campus: The management is currently in the initial planning stages for what will become a state-of-the-art campus designed to meet the growing demand within the Beit Shemesh community.
Residents and community leaders alike are celebrating the news, anticipating the unique energy and dedication to scholarship that the Mir will bring to this rapidly developing area.
