There are a lot of farms in need of help right now, especially with the olive harvest getting underway, as well as other winter fruits.

The weather is staying dry, it's a great way to spend the day, and you are supporting the farmers who are desperately in need of help. If you plan to take children, check with the farmer if the work is suitable for them.

Here are some farms that are near Beit Shemesh. Some will need volunteer help for the next few weeks.
Please remember always to coordinate with the farmer before heading out, circumstances can change at short notice (changes in weather or a faster or slower pace of work)

🥬1) The hydroponic lettuce farm in Naham (near Bet Shemesh) needs volunteers for tasks such as picking, planting and packing lettuce. Matan 050-212-6626 

🍊2) Simha Kashi in Gan Hadarom (about 30 minutes from Modiin and 35 from Bet Shemesh) urgently needs help picking persimmons. Many volunteers have already been to help, but there is still a lot of fruit on the trees. Work gloves and fruit picking "grabbers" will be provided. Families with teens and kids welcome. Work is form 0700-1600 Sun-Fri. Please coordinate with Simha at 052-224-1752. 

🫒3) The lovely folks at kibbutz Gezer, close to Modiin would appreciate some more volunteers to help with their olive harvest on Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 06:30-12:30. Varda: 052-250-2760 

🫒4) Orna at the Aladdin farm in Kfar Rut (near Modiin) welcomes help harvesting her olives. 054-314-1822 

🫒5) Momy at the Gerty farm in Kfar Bin Nun (near Modiin) would love help with this year's olive harvest. Some of the harvest is entirely by hand (families with kids from age 10 welcome), on some days next week he will also want help working with a mechanical olive shaker (adults only) They expect to be harvesting for about the next month. 🌱6) Dafna Farm on moshav Nahala (near Kiryat Malakhi) needs help planting cabbage, tomatoes and lettuce, along with related tasks like trellising, weeding and picking produce. Sigalit 050-320-0131 

🥒7) Iris Teshuva in moshav Shekef (near Lakhish) is always in need of volunteer help because she has a large farm with a variety of crops and is very short of helping hands at the moment. She welcomes families with older children (age 10 and up) to come and help. Iris 054-234-0450. 

🍋8) Uzzi in moshav Zeitan (next to Lod) has started harvesting lemons. Please coordinate with Uzzi over WhatsApp 052-407-2221 

🐴9)Mor at the Orion stables on moshav Shafir (near Kiryat Malakhi) would like volunteer help to care for her horses and clean the stables. No prior horse experience necessary. Mor 050-546-2718 

🥬10) Reuven at Israel Microgreens in moshav Shafir (near Kiryat Malakhi) is happy to have volunteer help especially on Sundays which tend to be the busiest. Reuven 058-571-7319
