Pure Kindness: United Hatzalah Volunteer surprises the family with a kind gift.
Elhanan Ivgi, a United Hatzalah paramedic from the RBS branch and an air conditioning technician by profession, arrived at the scene of a difficult CPR in Beit Shemesh – but he did the most moving thing the next day.
During his time in the house, Ivgi noticed that the house had no air conditioners. The heat was intense, and he found himself sweating while he performed the resuscitation efforts. When he left the house he couldn't stop thinking about the difficult conditions the family was living in.
The next day, when he saw that the efforts had been unsuccessful, and the patient had sadly had passed away, he realized that it would be the Shiva house for the mourners. He immediately knew that he had to do something. Within a few hours, he returned to the scene, this time not as a paramedic but as a professional, and installed two new air conditioners – at no cost to the family.
“I felt I couldn’t leave this family to deal with this heat, especially during their time of mourning,” Ivgi said. “It was the least I could do to make things easier for them.”
The touching act quickly spread on social media and was widely praised. For the grieving family, it wasn’t just a material donation – it was a ray of light of humanity and mutual support during their difficult times.
