RETURNING BY MANO CRUISE - For those without ELAL tickets....
Bank Leumi announced yesterday, Tuesday, that it is joining efforts to repatriate the many Israelis stranded abroad following the war with Iran - using a passenger ship it chartered for this purpose. "The ship, owned by Mano Shipping, will depart from the port of Limassol in Cyprus this Monday, June 23rd, and will be able to return approximately 1,500 people to Israel," the bank said in a statement.
"Registration for the cruise will be open to all Israelis at a subsidized fee, with Leumi customers being given a larger discount. For Leumi customers, a ticket will cost 300 euros, and for those who are not bank customers, the cruise will cost 600 euros."
The announcement also stated that Israelis residing abroad and interested in registering will be able to do so starting today at 4pm. on the bank's website, here.
It was also announced that, following an agreement with the Ministry of Transport, the Mano Shipping ship will make two voyages from Cyprus to Israel, even before the Bank Leumi voyage. In accordance with the policy set by the Ministry of Transport, only foreign citizens will leave the country on the ship. The ship will dock in Limassol for a few hours to pick up passengers, and then set off for Israel, a voyage that will last about 15 hours. The prices for these cruises will range from €399 per person to €650. The company said that they were set according to the room level, and do not reflect the true cost of the cruise - the need for special arrangements in Cyprus for passport control, security, and additional costs.
