This is a warning from the Israel Meteorological Service:
❄️🌨 There will be a severe cold spell in Israel this coming weekend. This will particularly affect Jerusalem, the Gush, the north and mountainous areas. Beit Shemesh will be cold and rainy, but not as severe.
"From Thursday, we will experience winter weather, which will intensify as we approach the weekend.
The peak of the cold is expected on Friday and Saturday, and combined with heavy rain, it is expected to snow, mainly in the northern mountains and even in the central mountains.
Snow will start in the northern Golan Heights on Thursday night and Friday, and by Friday it is expected to reach the Galilee mountains and even the city of Tzfat.
On Friday night temperatures will continue to drop. Snow will fall in the north of the country and possibly in places above 500-600 meters, and also in the higher central mountains.
Towards Saturday morning, the snow line will come south and is likely to reach the Jerusalem mountains and the city itself.
During Saturday, temperatures will continue to drop, to as low as zero, and snow will continue to fall in the northern and central mountains.
For a more detailed forecast of snow accumulation, we need to wait another day or two for higher-resolution models.
The forecast for low temperatures seems quite certain, but the expected precipitation amounts, which will affect the snow accumulation, are still uncertain."
