Beit Shemesh Continues to Expand: District Committee recommends approval of Ramat Avraham-Ramatayim neighborhood expansion plan
The District Planning and Building Committee has recommended approval of the expansion plan for the Ramat Avraham-Ramatayim neighborhood in Beit Shemesh, which includes the construction of approximately 4,200 new apartments alongside comprehensive development of public institutions, infrastructure, green spaces and an adapted transportation system.
This is one of the largest construction plans currently being promoted in the city, as part of a broad urban policy that the city administration is leading to continue the development of Beit Shemesh and make it one of the largest, fastest-growing cities in Israel.
According to the plan, alongside the new homes, they will build educational centers, synagogues, mikvahs, public parks, open spaces and advanced road and infrastructure systems, to serve the population from the neighborhood's early stages.
Mayor Shmuel Greenberg said "Beit Shemesh continues to make giant strides towards becoming one of the largest cities in Israel." Here too, we insisted that no construction plans be promoted without prior planning of public buildings, including educational buildings, mikvahs, synagogues and compatible environmental development, so that residents will arrive in the neighborhood when it is ready for habitation."
Deputy Mayor and Chairman of the Local Planning and Building Committee, Shimon Goldberg said "The approval of the plan is great news for the future of Beit Shemesh and for the city's continued development momentum. This is a large-scale plan that looks years ahead and provides a real response to the tremendous growth of the city's population. We are not just promoting thousands of housing units, but an entire neighborhood with proper planning, public institutions, transportation, green spaces and advanced infrastructure from day one. Together with Mayor Shmuel Greenberg, we continue to lead a clear policy of responsible, high-quality and balanced development, so that Beit Shemesh continues to be a leading city."
