The State vs. IKEA Saga Continues

The State has decided to intensify its fight against IKEA Eshtaol, which it claims uses an illegal extra 8,000 square meters. The State’s decision comes after the district court rejected its request for an interim order to seal the area until a decision was reached; IKEA threatened that a one third reduction of the store could lead to the closure of the entire branch, taking away the livelihoods of hundreds of workers and their families in an already difficult economy. But the State does not intend to give up. Last Wednesday, the State submitted to the Supreme Court an urgent request for leave to appeal the district's decision, which rejected its motion for an interim injunction.
