Starting from this Sunday, November 24th ( כ"ג בחשון), there will be changes to the routes of some of the intercity lines operated by Beit Shemesh Express. The changes affect Route 412 to Tel Aviv, Route 408 to Petah Tikva, which will also be extended to the new neighborhoods in Beit Shemesh, and Route 323 to Kiryat Gat.
According to a statement from Beit Shemesh Express, the goal of the changes is to shorten the travel time for these routes within Beit Shemesh. However, some residents who have enjoyed the convenience of buses passing near their homes are now unhappy that the service they rely on will now only pass around the outskirts of the neighborhood.
For example, Route 412 to Tel Aviv, which is used daily by many residents of RBS, will no longer go into RBS Aleph or Bet and will only travel along the main roads that are on the edges of these neighborhoods. At the same time, the route will be extended to include the main roads in RBS Gimmel and Daled.
Similarly, Route 408 to Petah Tikva will be extended to the new neighborhoods and will travel along the following main streets: Amoraim, Eliyahu Hanavi, Yeshayahu Hanavi, Nahal Kishon, and then to Nahar Dan via Nahal Arugot. The route will go into the smaller streets of RBS Aleph or Nahar HaYarden Street. Additionally, the route will no longer enter the Kirya Haredit or the Cheftziba neighborhoods.
Route 323 to Kiryat Gat will also be significantly shortened. It will no longer go through RBS A or the he Kirya Haredit, but will travel directly from Nahal Kishon to Tzeelim, and from there it will turn onto Zecharia Hanavi St towards Road 375 and Kiryat Gat. It is important to note that the Kiryat Gat route operates only at the weekends (Fridays & Motsei Shabbat).
