Today marked the inauguration of Shmuel Greenberg as the new Mayor of Beit Shemesh. The ceremonial handover, attended by outgoing Mayor Dr. Aliza Bloch, deputy mayors, city council members, municipal officials, and numerous employees, took place earlier in the day.
In his inaugural address, Mayor Greenberg expressed his profound respect for the position and his commitment to serving the public faithfully. He pledged to immediately engage with municipal staff and department heads to commence the work ahead.
Addressing the city's residents, Mayor Greenberg emphasized inclusivity, stating that Beit Shemesh belongs to everyone, and he pledged to be a mayor for all. He acknowledged the challenges ahead but expressed confidence in overcoming them with community support.
Mayor Greenberg began his tenure by prioritizing improvements to public transportation, engaging with drivers to understand their needs and challenges. He then visited a Center for the Elderly, reaffirming his commitment to supporting the elderly population.
Subsequently, Mayor Greenberg conducted a thorough tour of the city hall, meeting with employees and department managers, and inspecting the municipal call center.
Accompanying the mayor were Mrs. Rivka Ravitz, Head of Staff, Mrs. Michal Levy, and senior assistant Avi Meyers. In the days ahead, Mayor Greenberg plans to finalize the appointment of his professional staff.
