National Cyber Directorate Warning: New Email Scam ⚠️
In the past 24 hours, a phishing email has been circulating that appears to be an official message from the Ministry of Justice, the State Attorney’s Office, and the Israel Police.
The message is written in proper Hebrew with an urgent tone, uses official state logos, and includes a summons for police questioning - all designed to trick the recipient into downloading a malicious file attached to the email.
Important Notice:
An investigation has revealed that the attached file contains malware - a harmful program that enables remote control over the computer and can lead to data theft or severe damage to the device.
What should you do?
• If you receive such an email – do not click on any links or open the attachments ❌
• If you did click – do not approve or run the downloaded file
• If you did run the file – immediately seek professional assistance at a certified computer or phone lab
• If you did not click – no harm was done. Just block the sender and delete the message
Important Reminder:
Even after restoring your device, when uploading data from backups, make sure to scan files for infections to avoid accidentally reintroducing the malware.
Recommendations for Dealing with Phishing Emails:
• Always check the email address (not just the sender’s name)
• Look for suspicious signs such as a threatening tone, spelling errors, or urgent calls to action
• Always verify with the official source via their website or phone number
To report a cyber/phishing/phishing incident, fill out the online form or call the National Cyber Command's hotline 119
