Why do I need an Insurance Agent?

Real story 1:  
At Egert & Cohen, we recently met an older woman who decided to transfer her policies to us. When we reviewed her file on Har HaBituach (the government site that lists all your insurance policies), we were shocked:

Her previous agent had sold her four disability policies. She had purchased another one through a telemarketing company. That’s five disability policies - yet you can only ever claim up to 75% of your gross salary. She was paying a fortune for coverage she could never use.

• Accident headache? You’re in an accident with a Palestinian driver insured in Hebron. Who’s going to track down the foreign insurer and push the claim? We will.

• ‘Not our fault,’ says the bus company. A parked-car smash, and the bus operator refuses to accept responsibility. Who preps the file and guides you through Small Claims Court? We do.

• Oops-young driver not listed. Your teen borrows the car, and of course that’s when the accident happens. Coverage? Not as is. Who goes to the insurer to negotiate an ex-gratia (goodwill) payment? We will.

Direct can feel cheaper - until you need an adult in the room!
