There are city-wide events and ceremonies for Yom Hazikaron, starting from Sunday morning. Together we will remember and honor the heroes of Israel. Please note, all events are in Hebrew unless stated otherwise.
Sunday 19th April - ב' באייר תשפ״ו
9:30am: Ulpan Olim Mathans Gvanim invites the community to a special event dedicated to the memory of Senior Sergeant Elisha Levinstern HyD. Elisha's mother will share her life story, her remarkable spirit, and powerful insights on navigating loss while choosing to embrace life. The talk will be held in Hebrew and English alternately.

4pm - 7pm: A special memorial for the 9 people killed in the missile strike on Beit Shemesh on 1st March 2026. Residents of Beit Shemesh are invited to come to the area of the fall: to light a candle, pray, and read Tehillim in memory of the murdered.
At Simtat Alon, Beit Shemesh.
8:30pm: You are invited to the screening of the film "הבן יקיר לי" which follows Rabbi Yaakov Medan and Rabbi Tamir Granot in the midst of the Iron Swordד War. A story about courageous leadership, personal loss, faith and hope - even when the heart is broken.
A conversation with director Noam Damsky will take place at the end of the film.

Monday night, 20th April - ג' באייר תשפ״ו
5pm: A ceremony in memory of the fallen soldiers and victims of terror from Beit Shemesh who have been killed in this war. Members of the families of the fallen will participate. In the Memorial Grove in Ramat Shilo, in the park at the corner of Nahal Ein Gedi, RBS A.
5:30pm: Children's Tefilla and Seudat Amen - in memory of the fallen soldiers. Followed by Mincha and a memorial program without music, with separate seating. 7:55pm Livestream from the ceremony at the Kotel, fololowed by Maariv.

Dear community, Ulpanat Ahavat Yisrael invites you to unite and remember Israel's fallen soldiers and the victims of terror in a community ceremony.

8pm: Siren will be sounded all over the country.
The city memorial service at the City War Memorial - Ben Gurion St, Beit Shemesh.
Special guest Education Minister Yoav Kisch
This will be broadcast live on the Iriyah website, Facebook and YouTube pages.
8pm: Yizkerem - Event for Bnei Torah and and Haredi community. Separate seating.
Accompanied by heartfelt niggunim and chazzanus with Ohad Moshkovitz and a vocal choir
Doors open: 8pm. Maamad begins: 8:30pm.

10pm: An evening of stories and songs of remembrance. Together with Ori Vizel - (brother of Elkana Vizel) and his band. Beit Yad L'Banim, 15 Aliyat Hanoar, Beit Shemesh. There will be shuttles to Beit Yad L'Banim after the city memorial ceremony, from the City War Memorial.
Tuesday 21st April - ד' באייר תשפ״ו
10:30am: A memorial program without music, with separate seating.

10:45am: The Hebrew ulpan of Matnas Gvanim invites the community to take part in the Memorial Day ceremony.
Kel Maleh Rachamim and Yizkor. Stories of the fallen soldiers and victims of terror.
